Nov 19-23	Grand Canyon I traveled to visit Ray for Thanksgiving, and we drove with Serene and Eu-jin to the Grand Canyon for a grueling 2-day hike from the South Rim to North Rim and back (about 21 miles and 5,000 feet elevation per day). Daytime temperatures were comfortable, but our thermometer read 12 degrees while camping at the North Rim Sunday night!
Oct 29-Nov 1	Bermuda My mom and I visited this island for a long weekend, only 2 hours flight from New York. We stayed in a resort with tent-houses (www.9beaches.com) which was fun. The weather was overcast at first, but then cleared up very nicely. I did a little snorkeling on Monday and saw a barracuda!
Sept 19	Chicago Architecture Ray and I took the architectural cruise in Chicago, and I tested out a tilt/shift lens.  Includes normal lens pictures from me and Ray.
Aug  6-13	Costa Rica I traveled to Costa Rica with my friends Kate, Boo, and Angel. We stayed for the week there on the Pacific Ocean. Costa Rica is well known for natural attractions, and we saw what we could of the surrounding beaches, rainforests, volcanoes, and coral reefs.
July 21-23	Flight to Columbia Ray flew us to this funny tourist town. It was 110 degrees (which wasn’t as funny), but we got tasty handmade candy and fresh local turkey. A few Berkeley shots at the end. Anacapa This Channel Island is a one-square-mile piece of volcanic rock that has no water, but there are thousands of gulls and brown pelicans that nest on the cliffs. Highway 1 On the way to Santa Barbara we stopped by to look at some views, including Pt. Lobos and Julia Pfeiffer State Parks.
June 8	San Antonio The ASMS conference was held here this year, right before the NBA finals.
April 5	Dominican Republic Last-minute weekend getaway, relaxing trip. First trip with 20D (kit lens).
Jan 29	Joshua Tree, etc.

Nov 25, 2004		Roosevelt Island Some nice views, mainly of Rockefeller University, from Roosevelt Island in the East River. (A80)
Aug 29, 2004		NW coast trip Ray and I took a trip up to Redwoods, Crater Lake, and Lassen Volcanic National Parks in Northern California and Oregon. The ocean view was scenic, and Crater Lake was quite spectacular. (A80)
May 2, 2004		Holland Amsterdam, Leiden, Rotterdam. I was in Amsterdam for Queens Day. (A80)
